Description
Nuclear hormone receptor. Binds estrogens with an affinity similar to that of ESR1/ER-alpha, and activates expression of reporter genes containing estrogen response elements (ERE) in an estrogen-dependent manner. Lacks ligand binding affinity and suppresses ESR1/ER-alpha and ESR2 isoform 1/ER-beta1 mediated transcriptional activation and may act as a dominant negative regulator of estrogen action.
